This decision aims to provide residents with additional time to update their demographic details without incurring any charges. The service is exclusively available through the official myAadhaar portal.
What UIDAI Aadhaar Extends?
Residents can update various demographic details free of cost, including:
- Name (If change is available)
- Address
- Other demographic details
These updates can be made by uploading valid Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents. The process is totly online, no need to visit physical Aadhaar centres.
How to Update Aadhaar Services Online
- Visit the myAadhaar Portal: Go to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
- Login: Enter your Aadhaar number and authenticate using the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
- Select Update Option: Choose the ‘Update Demographic Details’ option.
- Upload Documents: Select the appropriate document type (PoI or PoA) and upload a clear scanned copy of the original document. Supported formats include JPEG, PNG, and PDF, with a maximum file size of 2 MB.
- Submit Request: After reviewing the details, submit the update request. You will receive a 14-digit Update Request Number (URN) to track the status of your update.
- Download Updated Aadhaar: Once the update is processed and approved, you can download the updated Aadhaar card from the portal.
